Our expert knowledge at your hands

The UV glue used is an acrylic based component adhesive designed to react to long wave ultraviolet rays, that when curved give an optically clear bonded surface with exceptional strength characteristics.

The type of adhesive used is dependent on the materials being bonded. Particular attention is paid to preparation of the surfaces, as well as the correct positioning and clamping of the components.

These are all vital to the final strength of the bond. We are happy to customise our designs to fit your requirements in respect to size and shape and more than happy to consider your own designs.

Glass that can be used in the UV bonding technique is “Clear Float Glass” which is a term used to describe “clear” un-toughened glass, Toughened Clear Glass, Laminated Glass, some coloured Glass and Mirror Glass (sample bonds are advised).

Edges of glass components to be bonded are generally “bright polished”. This enables the adhesive using capillary action to run smoothly between the glass joints.
